On this episode of Finding Your Bliss, Judy Librach is joined by Stewart F. Lane, who is also known as Mr. Broadway. Stewart Lane is a six- time Tony Award winning producer for ”Jay Johnson: The Two & Only,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “The Will Rogers Follies," “La Cage Aux Folles,” "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder," and "War Horse." As well as a nine time nominee, including, “Fiddler on the Roof” (revival) starring Alfred Molina, “Gypsy” (revival) starring Bernadette Peters, “1776” (revival) starring Pat Hingle and Brent Spiner, “The Goodbye Girl” starring Martin Short and Bernadette Peters and “Woman of the Year” starring Lauren Bacall.
Lane is also the recipient of four Drama Desk Awards, a Drama Critics Circle Award, an Outer Circle Critics Award and a Drama- Lounge Award. Other Broadway producing credits include:

In London, Lane produced “Top Hat” which won him an Olivier Award, “Thoroughly Modern Millie” (Olivier Nomination), “Ragtime” (Olivier Nomination) and “Lobby Hero.” In Dublin, he produced the world premiere of “JFK-A Musical Drama.”
Expanding into film, Lane has produced over 25 stage to screen productions, as well as movies such as “Brooklyn Rules,” starring Alec Baldwin and Freddy Prinze Jr., "Romeo and Juliet" starring Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad, and the documentary "Show Business: The Road to Broadway." Lane has also produced the Broadway Production of “Company,” starring Raul Esperaza and “Cyrano de Bergerac,” starring Kevin Kline, for Great Performances on PBS.
He is also the Chief Financial Officer and Co- Founder of the wonderful BroadwayHD, which is the Premiere Theatre streaming platform that brings full scale Broadway productions right into the privacy of your own home.
As if that were not enough, for several lifetimes, Lane is also the author of three books, “Let’s Put On A Show," "Jews on Broadway" editions one and two, and "Black Broadway.” He also wrote the plays “In the Wings” (published by Hal Leonard) and “If It Was Easy” (published by Performing Books), which was nominated for Best New Play by the American Theatre Critics Association. He conceived and wrote the John Denver Musical “Back Home Again,” for which he received the John Denver Spirit Award.
Lane has also directed numerous productions across North America. He is the co-owner and operator of the Palace Theatre in NYC, and a partner in the Tribeca Grill Restaurant with Robert DeNiro.
Lane also sits on a bevy of impressive theatrical boards and he is the proud recipient of many prestigious awards and honours.
Giving back to the theater community, Lane has created scholarship funds at Columbia University Business Graduate School and Boston University’s College of Fine Arts Undergraduate School and he has been a major supporter of many performing arts schools including, LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts. Five Towns College honoured Lane by naming their business school, Stewart F. Lane School of Business, for his contributions to the World of Entertainment.
He also lives in New York City with his wife and five children.
