“Never stray from the path of constantly avoiding genres. If people stop thinking in genres, then we’ll start to hear the music of the future.” – Ergo Phizmiz.
This week’s episode sees London’s Ergo Phizmiz join the conversation. Ergo is a composer, writer, radio-producer, homemade opera-maker, performer, and multimedia artist. His background within the arts is notably extensive, to say the least. During the past 13 years he’s created a body of work spanning hundreds of hours across theatre, songwriting, text, electronic music, collage exhibitions, installations, opera, video, and radio-plays. He has consistently defied categorization and much of his work has been performed or broadcast across the globe.
During the podcast we talk songwriting, overcoming performance anxiety, putting on shows, applying for funding, collaborating with other artists, teaching, touring, illness, aspirations and ambitions, the collapse of capitalism, among many other things.
