I must admit that I had wrongly avoided the Perdomo 10th Anniversary stick for what reason I do not know. It is very good. Quality construction, smooth draw, good burn line, and very nice palate notes. And, it was a very good pairing for Glen Fohdry's Spreyside French Oak Cask. For an operation that does not do it's own distilling this is a very, very good scotch and reasonable at $35. I think the palate was just as good and more expensive, similar spirits. This was a surprsingly good pairing. The Padron 3000 has the big name even though this particular cigar is budget friendly. It had a great hose and palate. The Jameson Black Barrel, while still close to the base offering, was a tasty spirit at a very reasonable price. You should try these together and with your own choice of partner. CHEERS!

The TX Blended Whiskey was equally as smooth and delicate with soft notes that are led robustly by vanilla and lots of it. I think I accidentally referred to this stick as the Series V Melanio but it is the Maduro. Hopefully I got any of those edited out. But this was a great pairing. You should try them together. Oliva consistently puts out great product and this stick is no different. The Day Drinker was very good and had a lot of complexity that I liked. Definitely worth a spot on your bar.

This was an amazing pairing. The stick was excellent, what you would expect from a name like Macanudo. The spirit however, the Bahnbrecker Slow River Blend was unlike any straight whiskey I have ever tried. I mean you get hints of this or hints of that but this whiskey punched you in the mouth was a banana. To have no flavorings added or be made with any part of a banana, that is the biggest note on the profile and it was good. I heartily recommend both these but you must try the Slow River Blend. It will take you on a ride. CHEERS!

This pairing was a wonderful experience. The Oliva Master Blends 3 lived up to its billing and it paired perfectly with the St. Remy XO. I had doubts about the stick in the matchup as the test smoke I had two days prior was exceptionally dry and pretty much exploded on me. However, for the review the stick performed flawlessly so it must have just been that one stick. Overall a really good pairing. I was impressed with the Still Austin Straight Bourbon. It was very complex and interesting, and an overall very good dram. The stick offered some great palate notes and as I said performed perfectly. This was an exceptional experience. The Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof was showing its' wares in a bold way. There were notes of maple syrup and caramelized banana that blended very well with the Shade Grown stick's vanilla and sweetness. The JD is stout at 128.7 proof but very manageable and doesn't require water to cut it down. You might consider adding a teaspoon or so but I didn't and it was delicious with a super long finish. The name of the game today is spicy! The Argentum and the Sagamore Rye Barrel Select both offered varying degrees of spice that really fused these two together.
