Hey girl…
And apparently, I need to say hey to the fellas too! 😂
Because somewhere along the way, I discovered that men have been listening to Still Becoming, and some of y'all have been feeling a little left out.
Well, pull up a chair!
For our Season 1 finale, we're talking about relationships, communication, perspective, and why some men swear they're so simple when they can be complicated as hell. 😂
I'm sharing how two very different relationships, one with my husband and another with someone I met this year, have challenged the way I think, react, and understand people.
Because sometimes the people who frustrate us are also the people who make us discover something about ourselves.
And sometimes the real question isn't why somebody else is so complicated.
It's whether we've taken the time to understand them.
We're also looking back at what these first eight episodes have taught me and talking about what's next for Still Becoming, including something new I'm calling Come Sit With Me.
One season is ending, but the conversations aren't.
We can sit in it. We just ain't staying in it.
Because girl… and fellas too…
We still got moves to make. 🤎
Hey girl…
This week? Girl. It's been A LOT. 😂
Not necessarily bad. Actually, some pretty amazing opportunities have been opening up.
But here's the thing…
I've been carrying thoughts I was almost afraid to say out loud. About relationships, change, the things I've prayed for, and what happens when life starts shifting in ways I didn't necessarily expect.
And now I'm sitting here asking God, "Is this You?"
Because apparently, I can pray for something, see the possibility of it happening, and STILL question whether I'm ready for it.
Meanwhile, I'm building businesses, figuring out where I want this podcast to go, showing up for the women in my groups, and coming up with about seventeen more ideas I apparently think I have time for. 😂
And somewhere in all of that, I'm realizing something.
Maybe I'm not overwhelmed because everything is going wrong.
Maybe I'm overwhelmed because so many things have the potential to go right.
So can I be grateful and still be tired?
Can I recognize a blessing and still have questions?
Can I be excited about becoming somebody different without having every damn thing figured out?
Come sit with me.
We're still becoming.
And girl… we still got moves to make. 🤎
Hey girl…
Apparently, we’re STILL talking about impact. 😂
But this time, I’m looking at it a little differently.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been thinking about the people who show up, the ones who leave, and the ones who become part of our lives without us even realizing how much they matter.
But what happens when those relationships start showing you things about yourself?
The things you didn’t see coming. The people you never expected to matter. The relationships that grew from something uncomfortable into something meaningful.
And then there’s change.
Girl… I don’t like change. Which is pretty damn funny considering I named this podcast Still Becoming.
But maybe impact isn’t always about what somebody leaves behind.
Maybe sometimes it’s about what their presence reveals about who we’re becoming.
And maybe learning to trust God means appreciating the people He’s allowed into our lives without needing to know how long they’ll stay.
I’m still sitting with that one.
Come sit with me.
We can sit in the uncomfortable. We just ain’t staying there.
We still got moves to make. 🤎
Hey girl…
I’ve been thinking about my kids lately.
Not just the ones I gave birth to, but all the ones I’ve collected along the way. The ones who stayed, the ones who grew up and moved on, and the ones who probably don’t even realize I still consider them mine.
And girl… I’m so damn proud of them.
But somewhere in the middle of thinking about motherhood, the mountains they’ve climbed, and the things I couldn’t always protect them from, I started thinking about something else.
Impact.
Last week, we talked about holding the flashlight for somebody without even realizing it.
And now I’m wondering…
What if I’ve been so busy asking God what my purpose is that I’ve overlooked what He’s already been doing through me?
What if impact isn’t always something big?
What if sometimes it’s just somebody knowing they have a place to land?
I don’t have all the answers. I’m still figuring out this whole relationship with God, motherhood, and becoming thing.
But maybe that’s the point.
Come sit with me.
We’re still becoming.
And we still got moves to make. 🤎
Sometimes you don’t realize what somebody’s presence meant until they’re no longer able to show up.
I thought I was processing grief.
But the more I sat with it, the more I realized this was really about presence.
About the people who show up.
The people who hold a little light for us when things get dark.
And the crazy part is, sometimes they don’t even know they’re doing it.
Sometimes neither do we.
So this conversation left me sitting with a question:
Who is holding the flashlight for me right now, and have I told them?
Because I don’t want loss to always be the thing that teaches me somebody mattered.
Come sit with me.
We can sit in the dark sometimes.
We just ain’t gotta become it.
I’m still becoming.
Some people are in our lives for decades.
Others cross our paths for a season, a couple of years, or maybe even twenty minutes.
But I'm realizing that time doesn't always determine impact.
After learning that someone who had once been a light for me had closed her eyes for the last time, I found myself thinking about what it really means to show up for people… and to recognize the people who have shown up for us.
How many people have held the flashlight while we were standing in our own dark closet without us even realizing it?
This morning, I'm sitting with grief, gratitude, presence, and one reminder I don't want to forget:
Maybe don't wait until the room gets darker to realize someone was holding the flashlight.

Maybe Time Doesn't Determine Impact
What if this shit actually fails?
Not “what if” in the cute, motivational, believe-in-yourself kind of way.
I mean really.
What happens when you’re putting your heart into something and there’s no guarantee anybody will listen, buy, care, clap or even notice?
That’s where my head has been.
Because as much as I’m building right now, there’s still a part of me wondering why the hell I’m doing any of it when some of it might actually fail.
And maybe the question isn’t whether it will.
Maybe it’s this:
Would I still build it if nobody clapped yet?
Not never.
Just not yet.
I don’t have the answer wrapped up in a pretty little bow. I’m still sitting with this one.
Come sit with me.
We can sit in the doubt. We just ain’t staying in it.
We still got moves to make.
I said the unknown felt different this time.
Apparently life said, “Okay bitch, let’s see.” 😂
This week tested me in ways that weren’t huge or dramatic, but definitely made me look at the woman I say I’m becoming.
Knowing when to speak and when to shut the hell up. Watching my sales numbers move slower than I want them to. Living on commission and still having to show up when the results aren’t showing up yet.
Maybe becoming isn’t proven when everything is going right.
Maybe the real question is...
Can I stay her when shit ain’t going my way?
Come sit with me.
We can sit in it. We just ain’t staying in it.
We still got moves to make.
Yesterday, one customer interaction had me questioning way more than just my sales skills. 😮💨
I caught myself doing something I think a lot of us do. Turning “I could have done that better” into “Maybe I’m not good enough.”
And GIRLLLL… those are two completely different things.
In this Still Becoming Podcast Banter, I’m talking about performance, self-worth, the lies we tell ourselves, and what happens when one disappointing moment suddenly has us questioning the whole damn woman.
Maybe the question isn’t “What’s wrong with me?”
Maybe it’s simply, “What can I learn from this?”
Because I’m learning that correction doesn’t have to become condemnation, disappointment doesn’t have to become identity, and I don’t have to earn my enoughness every morning.
Yesterday, I was carrying a heavy duffle bag.
Today? I’m unpacking that bitch. 😂
🎙️ Still Becoming Podcast Banter: Am I Enough When I Don’t Perform the Way I Think I Should?
I’m still in the unknown. I just don’t feel lost in it anymore.
In my first real episode of Still Becoming, I’m sitting with what life looks like right now - the book, my businesses, my body, my faith, this crazy-ass podcast idea, and all the things I’m building without knowing exactly where any of it is going.
Maybe I don’t need to know what’s next to know I’m not supposed to stop.
Come sit with me. We can sit in it. We just ain’t staying in it.
We still got moves to make.
