It’s safe to say that black television, including its sitcoms, have evolved over the years. Some for the good - some for the “indifferent”. In Episode 6, we discuss our individual perspectives and differences in opinion on reality TV. Does society place a negative stigma on black women? Or is this done across all races? When consuming reality TV should we assume the depictions are “for entertainment purposes only”? We discuss some of our favorite shows and end with sharing our character prototypes that embody our personalities best. Can you add to our character profiles? Did we hit the nail on the head?

Code switching is a survival mechanism BIPOC and Black women, in particular, use in corporate America. In Episode 5, we discuss our experiences navigating in predominately white spaces, the importance of mentorship and how we honor our authentic selves in the process.

As black women, society has deemed us the protector and savior to all. “Just because we’re magic, doesn’t mean we aren’t real!” Who is there to protect us?

In Episode 4 we intro with the murder of Breonna Taylor and the slew of emotions and thoughts that the failed case evoked. We transition into a multilayered discussion of the trending phrase “protecting black women” and what that looks like and feels to us. It’s important to understand that the only people we can control are ourselves. If we don’t give ourselves the self-love and care we deserve and need we won’t be able to show up for the people and places that need us most.
