Indian markets could open flat, in line with mixed Asian markets today and despite lower US markets on Friday.

In the early morning session, Nifty extended the fall and tested a level of 18,647 on the spot. In the Intraday session, Nifty violated crucial support of the previous swing low of 18,660. Intraday resistance for nifty is seen at 18,805. Supports for the Nifty are seen in 18,680 and 18,647.

Nifty oscillated between gains and losses on June 22 to end lower after Sensex hit fresh record highs. At close, Nifty was down 0.45% or 85 points at 18,771.3. 18,888-18,660 is the band for the Nifty, a breach of which on either side will determine its near term direction.

Today Nifty missed hitting a new all-time high just by a whisker. Nifty Today’s high of 18,886 is just 1 point lesser than the all-time high registered in Dec 2022. The Nifty small cap index has started losing momentum today and currently trading in the red.

Nifty opened slightly up by 34 points at 18,849. Post opening, Nifty attempted to surpass the all-time high of 18,887 but failed to do the same. Today is the eighth straight session when Smallcap Index is holding in green. Above the all-time high of 18,887, Nifty could extend its rally towards 19,000 levels.
