Steve and Brent focus on:

  • AAL - how to find developments on Russia/Ukraine in BZ Pro?
  • WISH - how to find other most-mentioned tickers on BZ Pro?
  • MKTW - other top short interest stocks: WEBR, GFAI, BGFV, FUV, BYND, GOGO, BEEM, LMND, GTLB, CWH

Today's 5 Stock Ideas: $AAL, $VEON, $WISH, $GFAI, $MKTW

  • America Air (AAL) - Airline stocks were a beneficiary of the favorable reports from Russian and Ukrainian negotiator talks in Istanbul, Turkey Tuesday morning. Crude oil briefly fell below the $100 per barrel level, down nearly 6%. A Ukrainian negotiator said enough favorable developments have happened to potentially facilitate discussion between Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and Russia's Vladimir Putin. A Russian negotiator called the talks in Istanbul "constructive."
  • VEON (VEON) - A play on seemingly favorable talks between Russian and Ukrainian negotiators. The company is a provider of connectivity and internet services in Russia, Ukraine and 8 other Middle East and Eastern European nations. The stock was up 16% in pre-market action.
  • ContextLogic (WISH) - A top 15 most-mentioned ticker on Reddit's WallStreetBets retail investor forum Tuesday. The data for the most-mentioned tickers was compiled by a proprietary scanner used by the Benzinga Pro newsdesk team. To find a list of the most-mentioned tickers on WallStreetBets each day, search phrase "WallStreetBets" in the search field of your Benzinga Pro News tool.
  • Guardforce.AI (GFAI) - One of Tuesday morning's biggest winners. Shares were up more than 40% following news the company is setting up subsidiaries in Dubai and Australia with the focus of rolling out its Robotics As A Service products.
  • Marketwise (MKTW) - A play on very high short interest. A proprietary scanner of short interest used by the Benzinga Pro newsdesk showed Marketwise had the highest short interest; about 45% of its float was shorted as of the most recent check.
