What do you do when a colleague takes total credit for a project you also participated in? The Stoicess has some insight for you.
Your two children are grown having their own families and live out-of-town. They decided this year to spend the holidays with their immediate family and not with you and your partner. Subsequently, your partner demands an apology from your children regarding such behavior. As you brushed off the request saying, “They are their own families now”, your partner became more aggressive demanding you have your children apologize or a divorce is forthcoming. You’re taken back, can’t believe what was said, but within two weeks later received the divorce papers. You now feel threatened of being under attack.
In this webinar, we discuss another Bible hero who was under the threat of attack while trying to rebuild the walls of a great city. The nations surrounding him were furious that he wanted to rebuild. Our hero knew of the odds against him and devised a plan that allowed him to complete his work. It’s the story that shows us the impact that a single individual (who is just like you) can have – even on an entire nation.
The moral of the story for us while on the job? “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father”. Apostle Paul (Colossians 3:17). It’s truly amazing what us mere mortals can do with God on our side!
In today’s world it’s now come to the point that some bosses expect 24/7 availability of employees. Such applies even when the employee is on vacation or a pre-planned family gathering. Even having an agreement with the boss on when not to text may be problematic to enforce.
So, what do you do?
Listen to the podcast for the Stoicess’ thoughts on this new irritant.
It’s a holiday with the in-laws for your partner. Where else can he find the judgmental stares, passive-aggressive mumbles, and active aggressive arguments all wrapped up in one big bundle of stress for everyone.
He wants to avoid this misery. However, you’ve got little ones that are watching how you and your partner act through this discord.
So, what should you do? Listen to the podcast for the Stoicess’ thoughts on the matter.
A few years ago, you finally made it to the upper class. You’re living in the land of the Richie Rich and things couldn’t be better. That is, until your partner told you they want a divorce. But their request was a little different. Instead of wanting the “will never see each other again” approach, your partner wants to place you in the “friend zone” so that the both of you can hang out as best friends. Your mind is swirling trying to figure out what is going on here. But one thing is clear to you, your partner is wanting something from you that you refuse to give.
In this webinar, we address an identical situation where someone wanted something from a 2nd individual, but the 2nd individual had no intent of giving it. The 2nd individual had a steady eye on what they were to accomplish, and the 1st individual just couldn’t “get it”. It’s a story of betrayal with subsequent remorse.
You were having lunch with a friend the other day and all was going well until the friend started speaking badly about another friend of hers. Hearing her words, you think to yourself, “Because my friend talks bad about her other friend; does she sometimes say bad things about me, too?” Listen to the video for insight on how to address this awkward situation.
You’ve been successful in your career and have made a name for yourself. However, marriage is now before you, and you must choose whose last name you will debut. So, do you take your partner’s name?
Listen to the poem for insight.
There are times in our lives that we see a fellow colleague, who is a trusted friend to us, being mistreated by a boss. It’s a difficult situation for you as well as your trusted friend. The question becomes what responsibilities do you have toward your trusted friend? To what depth would you go to help them?
In this webinar, we address a woman who was such a trusted friend to her community that an apostle was summoned to come to her aid. She is the only woman in the Bible called a disciple.
So, what made her so unique? She lived by the principle of loving-kindness.
Do you sometimes you feel like the outcast of your family, considering your siblings are selective regarding which family events you are allowed to attend? They even refer to you as the family entertainer and you’re only invited when free entertainment is needed.
Well, it’s time to hold your ground! Listen to the podcast for how to address.
Ever had someone make you feel bad for not giving in to their requests?
They act mad, call you names, then ignore you as they attempt to cause you stress?
Listen to the podcast to understand the "guilt trip" game.
