• Australian police have warned the public not to use Apple Maps. Like, ever. It turns out that the iPhone app can’t distinguish between the city of Mildura and a national park with no water, fuel, and filled with dangerous animals. The police have had to rescue multiple people after the motorists hiked back to cell range to phone for help.
• Santa has switched allegiances this year, as NORAD has changed their tracking system to use Bing Maps instead. At least he won’t get lost in an Australian national park . . .
• How tall can you make a tower of legos before it destroys the bottom lego? 2.5 miles high that’s how tall. 
• John McAfee has been extradited to the United States following his run from Belize where he faces murder charges. Too bad for him, since the reason he went to Belize in the first place is that he faces charges of negligent death and tax evasion here.
• North Korea has finally gotten one of their rockets off the ground and into space. Unfortunately, the satellite it put into orbit is tumbling out of control and may possibly mess things up for other equipment currently up there. Way to go North Korea, screwing things up for everyone again.
• No space shuttle? No problem for the US Military. They are still launching their secret space plane on a secret space mission . . . suspiciously soon after seeing the North Koreans launch their trash into space.
• Star Trek has been stolen. No not the TV series. A fishing boat named Star Trek was stolen in New Zealand. Authorities have yet to confirm, but my money is on the Klingons as the culprits.
• What is it with companies firing people by email? DC Comics suddenly fired Batgirl writer Gail Simone by email. Way to stay classy DC Comics.

• Somehow classified and sensitive shredded documents from the New York Police Department were used as confetti this year. Thus adding the new line to your Miranda Rights; You have the right to have your private information thrown out over the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. 
• Not Skyfall...Skyfall. A UK government website listed a fake 007 job position. Now someone else will soon be looking for a new assignment.
• TSR (the makers if Dungeons And Dragons) is back baby. After Wizards of the Coast let the trademark lapse in 2011, a new gaming company has picked it up and will be starting Gygax Magazine.
• Scandinavian police raided the home and confiscated a Winnie the Pooh laptop of a nine-year-old girl after she attempted, and failed, to download some music by a Finnish pop star. In the process, they managed to prove that “Weird Al” was right when he sang “It doesn't matter if you're a grandma or a 7-year-old girl, They'll treat you like the evil, hard-bitten criminal scum you are.”
• A Chinese company has started manufacturing a knock-off version of the new Apple iMac and has managed to beat Apple to the market. The rather convincing copy runs Windows 8 and matches everything in the original iMac. Can’t wait for this one to be put into another episode of Jimmy Kimmel where people can’t tell it’s not an Apple.
• The Onion named North Korean leader Kim Jong Un the sexiest man alive for 2012. Newspapers in China grabbed the story, and not understanding the awesomeness of The Onion, ran with the story as a fact proving that they need to get out from behind the Great Firewall of China and explore the Internet a bit more.
• Director Bryan Singer has confirmed that Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart will appear in the upcoming film X-Men: Days of Future Past. As we all know, everything is better with a little bit (or a lot) of Patrick Stewart thrown in.
• Scientists have found the largest black hole ever. Get your minds out of the gutter we are serious.

• The first openly Horde gamer has come to the Maine State Senate Acknowledged MMO player and level 85 Rogue Colleen Lachowicz is one of the newest members of the Maine State Senate. True story; when she won the election, she posted the Final Fantasy “victory song” to her Facebook.
• In news that is surprising to almost no one, the USA Network has renewed their highly regarded series 'Burn Notice' for a Seventh Season which will put the episode total over 100. For a burned spy, Michael Weston sure gets a lot of work.
• As a sign that it is truly the end of days, a "rage comic" posted on Reddit actually may have saved a man's life. A comic originally making fun of a guy for messing around with an unused pregnancy test and having it come back positive led commenters to explain that such a result could actually be a symptom of testicular cancer and urged him to have it checked. Turned out, they were right! It seems that for every 100 million hours spent on Reddit, one life is saved
• Elfquest movie rights have been bought by.....the team that did the fan film.  Hey, I’m ok with this.
• It’s official. After less than a year Star Wars, the Old Republic is going free to play on Nov. 15th. Apparently, the force was not strong with this one.
• He may not have written a concession speech but Team Romney had already created a transition site for the early days of President Romney. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, however, a staffer accidentally made the site live Tuesday night even as President Obama was announced the winner. It’s like ‘Dewey defeats Truman’ all over again, only online.
• NASCAR drivers are half as likely to participate in social media with their fans as other sports leagues.  Wait, didn’t we want to avoid texting and driving?
