When it comes to living life as a parent and grandparent the heart of everything we do is discipleship-passing on Jesus to our kids. The message this Sunday will give a handful of practical lessons based on the Bible that help us live in way that passes on the wisdom of Jesus to our kids and grandkids.
Both marriage and singleness are wonderful gifts from God. Come and join us this Sunday as Pastor Doug delves into what Jesus says about how to “Live life as...” a spouse or as a single person.
Most of us work in places where people don't know Jesus. Even If they do know Jesus, they are still imperfect. How do we work in a setting where God is not always the priority? Join us this Sunday as we learn from God's Word how to Live Life as a ... Co-worker!
We are all created for community and the reality is, everybody needs somebody. There is somebody who needs you and there is somebody you need to share in the ups and downs of life. Unfortunately, we live in a world where people are more divided than ever before. We are in a world desperate for people willing to be friends. Let’s discover what being a real friend in a broken world looks like.
We’re celebrating the most pivotal moment in human history – Jesus coming back to life! We killed our creator, but He conquered death—and now we have the promise of eternal life in Him! Jesus’ death paid our debt, but his resurrection seals the promise. No matter who you are, what you’ve done, how you’re struggling – there’s hope. Hope for freedom, forgiveness, hope for the future, hope for forever. You know why? Because Jesus changes EVERYTHING!
Jesus set an example for us as he entered Jerusalem the week of his death and resurrection. It said something. It showed who he was and what he was about. As we hear how he made an entrance, we will learn what type of mindset we should enter life through.
This week we will finish up with Daniel as Pastor Doug walks through visions of receiving warnings and capturing hope. We will learn that hardship, persecution, and suffering all will take place, but they will not last. Jesus will reign forever and judge the living and the dead according to his righteousness. He will renew and restore all things, and his people will dwell with him forever. And as we live in the in-between, Daniel encourages us that although things can be dark, eventually Jesus will restore it all.
In Daniel 9, Daniel is now an old man reflecting back on his nearly seven decades of exile in Babylon. God allowed Jerusalem to go into exile because of their continual disobedience and hardened hearts toward Him. But Daniel knew God hadn’t abandoned them; He was working on restoring them in a way that would eclipse everything they were going through. Because of this, Daniel stayed faithful to God and wasn't distracted by what was holding him captive.
Sometimes, when we study the end times in the Bible, we try to crack the code to figure out God’s plans for the future. But God is not hiding anything from us—prophecy is supposed to reassure us. In Daniel 7, we learn about a visionary dream Daniel had that reminds us of the God we serve. The God of the furnace and the God of the lion’s den is the same God who reigns over heaven and earth. Daniel 8 gives us another foreshadowing of what the end times will be like. Though we aren’t certain of when they will come, we're given prophecies about the Good News of Jesus that are already and not yet fulfilled. Jesus has given us the confident hope of new life and defeat over sin and death. Until we get to experience the fullness of these prophecies, we're called to usher in His Kingdom in the “now, not yet.
Daniel’s experience in the lions’ den was his final demonstration of how to live for God within a godless culture. It was a result of small, daily acts behind closed doors when no one was looking. Daniel didn’t suddenly muster up the courage to face a group of hungry lions. His character was built by the habits he formed over decades. Building his muscles of faith equipped him to be among lions.
