Prelude

Welcome & Announcements

*Call to Worship

LEADER: God gives us each a purpose.

PEOPLE: God gives us all a purpose.

LEADER: Sometimes living with purpose looks bright and cheerful.

PEOPLE: Sometimes living with purpose challenges and pushes us.

LEADER: We worship Jesus whose purpose led to the cross – and beyond!

ALL: And today, we follow the Spirit who leads us through obstacles to a life of love and service. Amen!

*Opening Hymn “Come We That Love the Lord" UMH #732

*Opening Prayer, in unison

God, we sometimes think that the goal of life is happiness. You show us that true flourishing is so much bigger than that. Help us, today, to trust that in living out your purposes for us, we will experience true joy and fulfilment. Help us to know, deep in our souls, that we have a part to play in your vision for all of humanity and creation. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

L. Lord, we come to worship you in spirit and in truth today.

P. May we hear from you as we give you praise.

L. Some of us have come seeking your will for our lives.

P. Give us a spirit of discernment to know how we can reach out to those who need our help.

L. Time is of the essence.

P. We do not wish to tarry but to be ever present in the lives of your people. We thank you for the ways in which you will use us this week in our community.

*Opening Hymn “A Charge To Keep I Have" UMH #413
