There comes a point in our life when we have to let our parents off the hook.
There's a tendency when you're doing the personal development work, especially in therapy, to blame everything on your parents.
And I want you to know that I have certainly been there, I am guilty as charged of that blaming, but there comes a point in our lives where we have to see our parents as human beings.
As long as you see your parents as parents, you're going to always see yourself as the child.
Create your life on your terms, not based on what you are expecting from someone else, even if that someone else is someone as close to you as you as your parents.
