There comes a point in our life when we have to let our parents off the hook.
There's a tendency when you're doing the personal development work, especially in therapy, to blame everything on your parents.
And I want you to know that I have certainly been there, I am guilty as charged of that blaming, but there comes a point in our lives where we have to see our parents as human beings.
As long as you see your parents as parents, you're going to always see yourself as the child.
Create your life on your terms, not based on what you are expecting from someone else, even if that someone else is someone as close to you as you as your parents.
Today I want to share with you why I do group therapy.
People generally have a good idea about couples therapy and individual therapy, but what about group?
I think group is underrated and offers a unique set of benefits for people who want to know more about themselves and how they are showing up in the world.
So much of what keeps us stuck in life is our inability to see ourselves. Group therapy is a great way to have those blind spot revealed to us.
If you're someone who is curious about what group is about - or wondering if it's for you -then be sure to head over to the podcast and listen to this episode!
