Complete Car was primarily a vertical search engine for finding repairing stations. Someone bought his company after some time.

Career Milestones

Drew taught himself to program and work on the backend. His skills landed him a job at a law firm. He eventually went to business school and started another company.

He went into other ventures in the process until he landed on a good market. Recently, he built a tool that is suitable for call center agents.

Challenges and Moving Forward

The recession was a tough challenge to Drew. According to him, he has always been under capitalized. He tries to fulfill different functions as much as possible.

“The smart money probably says that you should focus on the things that bring the most value and outsource the rest. But if every piece is critical and you have the capacity to do it, I do all of it until it absolutely hurts.” – Drew Massie

He hopes that by doing things by himself, he is able to earn more money and have more experience. In the long run, he can bring in someone to help him out.

Chris wrote an article on LinkedIn titled “I Wanna Buy a House; Now What”. He was with Indiana Mortgage Bankers that time. He shares the essence of paying a mortgage.

With years of experience, he encourages people to buy what they are comfortable with. Consider your monthly leftover after all the expenses.

A Privilege to Take Care Of

According to Chris, you have to be cautious with your investments. Tax is also something to consider when working from home as an entrepreneur.

Brian Propp

Former NHL player Brian Propp spent 15 years on the ice breaking records and made the playoffs for 13 of those seasons! He’s taken that desire and drive to win off the ice to succeed as a real estate entrepreneur.

Brian got drafted into the National Hockey League in 1979. He shares how happy he is that he played with the Philadelphia Flyers.

“It was nice because we’ve always had good teams in the 80s and we have good stories to tell. But more than that is having good friends that I have met over the years.” – Brian Propp

According to him, he did not have quite a good start. But he had a fantastic experience with his team over the years. They now have a very strong alumni association.

Playing with the Greats

When he was still a rookie player, Brian played with Reggie Leach and Bobby Clarke. As a team, they had a 35 undefeated streak.

“That’s how we grew—we worked by example.” – Brian Propp

He appreciates the leadership in their team. He also got to play against Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux.

The Golden Year

In the 1991 season, Brian passed Bobby Hull for the all-time playoff scoring list. He shares how not a lot of great players get to play in the Stanley Cup or in the playoffs. The achievement meant a lot to him but he also gives credit to his fellow players.

Now, Brian enjoys spending time with his fellow former hockey players. Philadelphia Flyers is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. They have a lot of activities in store for everyone.

She positioned herself among successful individuals and showed up to work every day. There were challenges especially when she was just starting out. But, she persevered and still thrives in her chosen career path.

Keeping the Excitement at Work

Jennifer admits that there were times that she got burned out from work. As a result, she had to take less work. But, she always became excited to do other things.

“The excitement around starting a practice and building that business was about as exciting to me as getting the clients and working with them successfully.” – Jennifer Gardner

When she was burned out with legal practice, she was able to create an artistic and entrepreneurial space. She would return refreshed and informed as a lawyer.

Start of the Journey

Michael started in business way back when he was still seven years old. He sold Christmas cards and gifts to ladies in their neighborhood. Later on, he ended up having a career in the Ivy League.

Just when he started teaching, he started a consulting business. He fell in love with it and decided to pursue it full time. Since then, he has worked with more than 3,000 businesses, organizations, government agencies, and others.

Engaging with the Audience

Michael used to find very challenging to speak in public. He managed to overcome it when he became a professor. For 35 years now, he has given a total of around 8,000 presentations.

He kept his classes interesting with halftime activities. Some of them are hands-on while some are done in storytelling.

Tips for Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking

Michael shares three big problems that people face when it comes to public speaking. One of them has to do with the nerves.

People tend to become nervous both before and after they speak. To overcome this, you can interlace your fingers, take your right thumb and massage your left palm. Doing so will naturally calm you down.

“Stop trying to memorize what you’re going to say. Be yourself, it’s ok to pause.” – Michael Hudson on Public Speaking

Another tip to lessen your nervousness is stop thinking that you have to start instantaneously. You can take control of what happens. Check to see that people are ready to listen, and then you start talking.

From that experience, Nina considered what it would take for a business to sell. Just like many other entrepeneurs, she wondered how she could take a 30-day off and return with more profit.

She discusses that people are known by what they have in mind. And it is your service—not the products that you sell—that matters.

To entrepreneurs who desire to up their business, Nina suggests that you consider the numbers. It is not necessarily about your message.

Many start their businesses with just their skills and expertise. Because of that, they tend to base their profit margin off their competitors’. They don’t have much idea about running a business.

From IT Specialist to Content Creative

Later on in her career, she started receiving requests for Spanish content services. Her business grew to what is now 360 Content Pro.

Most of their clients come from North America and Europe. Alma shares that Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world.

Other military wives saw what Kristen did. Even with her thriving business, she still had time with her family. That inspired them.
