Episode Description:
In this episode of the Stop To Think podcast, we talk about risk management. It seems like a lame topic but risk comes up everywhere in life. Although it's usually good, it can sometimes cause problems if you're too risk-averse.

Episode Description:
In this episode of the Stop To Think podcast, we talk about why you have to work. A lot of stupid people on the internet don’t understand how the world works. Specifically, they seem to miss the fact that resources are finite. Economics is the study of the production, consumption, and the transfer of wealth. When resources are finite, we need to decide who gets more resources and who gets less. When you work, you exchange your productive efforts for the productive efforts of other people. This episode is all about hammering this out and why it forces you to work if you want to have stuff provided to you by other people.

Episode Description:
In this episode of the Stop To Think podcast, we talk about how insurance works. In the recent past, a lot of people have argued that criminals shouldn’t be treated harshly for their actions because the damage they cause is covered by insurance. Unfortunately, if the insurance has to pay for it, then everyone who has insurance ends up paying for it. We talk about it in this episode.

Episode Description:
In this episode of the Stop To Think podcast, we talk about beauty, purity, and character. These three facets are the key factors that make girls attractive to guys. Beauty is the most important because it’s required to cause a guy to initiate an interaction. Purity is the next most important because it will tank a relationship if it’s not present. Character is third because without it a relationship is pointless to have.

Episode Description:
In this episode of the Stop To Think podcast, we talk about some internet scams. Earlier this year I had a close call with one. That prompted me to look into internet scams in greater depth to get an understanding of how they work and how to best avoid them.

Episode Description:
In this episode of the Stop To Think podcast, we talk about the diminishing returns curve with respect to thinking. One of the people I work with, we’ll call him “Steve”, thinks that thinking less is beneficial for one’s happiness. He’s more in favor of just going with your instinct which is accurate 85% of the time. I on the other hand think that thinking more is always better provided that you’re not incurring an opportunity cost for it. Also, the audio is kind of sketchy. $20 Walmart mic for the win. We’ll hopefully have better audio going forward.

Episode Description:
In this episode of the Stop To Think podcast, we talk about investing in and developing other people. Over the course of my life, I’ve had the opportunity to invest a decent amount of my time in developing other people. So far, no one I’ve had a hand in mentoring has flamed out so it seems like I might kind of know what I’m doing or something like that. This episode is centered on discussing the experiences relating to this.

Episode Description:
In this episode of the Stop To Think podcast, we come back to the topic of evil once again. I just finished a book, “On Becoming a Person”, which presents the idea that people aren’t actually inherently bad. Instead, they’re usually just responding to circumstantial challenges. This obviously contradicts the original sin worldview that is presented in the Bible. In this episode, I wanted to talk about it some more.
