Today’s story is one I wrote for my dad. It is about a young boy being led through the woods by his father. They take a path to a secret place. A hidden confluence of nature. There amongst the fallen leaves and grey twilight are things the boy will never forget.
Until his dying day and beyond.

Dracula dreams in his coffin slumber whilst a man creeps through his castle.
It is 1503, the height of the Italian Renaissance, and a young Venetian named Ludovico sneaks down the darkened halls. He has heard rumors of a nameless evil. A fluttering of bats across the conquered lands of Wallachia. The Turks tell of terrors in the night, screams, and the howling of women. No one goes near the castle.
People still remember the forest of stakes...

American Dogwood - Part 1 of 3:
Nine years ago, Detective Amory lost his only daughter. She disappeared one summer day. One terrible blue-skied day. He has managed to keep his world from unraveling but only just. For a new hot summer brings the body of a girl hanging in midair and his past is opened like a wound unhealed. As more bodies turn up in frightful scenes, it’s a race against the collective sanity of the state of Virginia and the innocent lives of multiple young women. It’s a race against time no one has.
The serial killer is like a ghost, a supernatural force that no one can contend with. But Detective Amory must. He must save them like he couldn’t save his daughter.
CONTENT WARNING: There are themes of murder, crime scene investigation, kidnapping, and talk of death, so this episode might not be suitable for children.

Our story picks up with Telamon delving into the legends of his father, Hercules, to the Nordic band of warriors. They listen in silence while the fire burns low. Their leader tells Telamon that his father was seen many years back but only their King would know more.
Once in the presence of the King, Telamon finds some answers the Oracle of Delphi promised but the rest are held ransom by the antler-crowned monarch. The old ruler tells him that he must complete a monster hunt to rival the labors of Hercules—then and only then will he know the rest.
But the monster is a cunning trickster who will test the heart and soul of the traveler so far from Greece.

This story is set in the far distant reaches of time. A setting of myth and mist.
A teenage Telamon has been raised in seclusion, shepherding on a Grecian hillside. He doesn’t know his father and his mother won’t tell him. One day he begs and begs her, and she tells him that his father is none other than Hercules! Telamon wants to be legendary like his dad, but he wants to meet him more. His mother tells him he must go to the oracle at Delphi. She will instruct him what to do.
And so, he journeys there. The fume breathing oracle tells him that he must travel to Hyperborea, far in the north, where men worship gods of thunder and ravens. It is there he will find answers.
This is Part 1 of 2.
