The everyday routes you take and the everyday routines you perform will one day be precious to you when you look back on them. The ordinary things today will often be the things that bring a tear to our eye one day in memory. What if we could live with that awareness now?

When I was about thirty an experienced pastor gave me some really sound advice. The other day it came back to me in a humorous way. Here's there story. 

Today I want to tell you a cluster of stories about an old fiddler named Charlie, a friend named John, a book that changed my life and a chair that was a work of art. Settle in. You may need some coffee or sweet tea with this one. 

Everywhere you turn is noice. Everyone has a opinion. They are sure they are right, but few of them agree with one another. At a time like this it is good to have a place where you can be quiet. 

Back in the late 80's I pastored a village church in Ohio. It was there I met Dorothy who taught me a couple lessons I have never forgotten. Now I am going to pass them on to you. I hope you never forget.

Many years ago in the kind providence of God I was blessed to work with Pastor Larry Whiteford. He taught me a lot. Here is a favorite memory and in important lesson that I have never forgotten.
