Today we shine a light on a program which recognizes students who go above and beyond, who are respectful and safe and who are leaders in the classroom at Culler Middle School.

Today’s going to be a real fun episode as we get to hear from students that are part of the Arnold Elementary Community Learning Center Junior Jobs Club who recently visited our district office to learn about Communications!

In today’s episode we learn about the fantastic and valued work our district’s gifted mentors are doing through interviews with Peter, a student at Rousseau Elementary, along with mentors Rhonda Schoenmaker and Kasey Moomau. Thanks to Communications web technician, Joshua Genrich for recording these.

This week, we are happy to bring you audio from this week’s Board Preview Live where Lincoln Board of Education member Don Mayhew discussed the importance of kindergarten registration with staff.

This week, we relive a very fun day for our communications team….Jason Keese and Mindy Burbach followed the Los Mariachis de la Ciudad Estrella around on their spring tour to four of our schools. This is the inaugural year for this district-wide mariachi group and thanks to the monetary support from the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools – features students from various schools, ages, and cultural backgrounds.

This week, Caitlin Lukin sits down with 2019 NDE Teacher of the Year, Sydney Jensen. They talk about the honor that was bestowed upon her.

This week, Mindy sits down with TeamMates of Lincoln Coordinator Jim Bennett. They talk about the value of mentoring to both the young people served by the program and those that graciously donate an hour of their time each week to meet with them. Today we feature Mickle Middle School Librarian, Meredith Fickes and the awesome breakout games that she creates to help her students learn and remember subjects they are studying. You’ll get to learn from Meredith the work that goes into creating the games and then hear from students how much fun they have breaking out.

Students in Mrs. Fickes’ Library use research skills, knowledge of the subject and creativity to solve the Breakout puzzles.

Today we feature Schoo Middle School 7th grade social studies teacher, Cody Thatcher. He shares with Mindy his love for teaching and some of the great learning experiences he had growing up in Lincoln Public Schools. We also feature some of the fun songs he’s created to help students learn!
