I've always been fascinated with the tech industry, but I missed it the first time around. In 2006 I chose a path in real-estate, where I immediately saw the powerful role that software played in building a successful brand. Though I enjoyed the real-estate business, I left in 2017 when I was offered the chance to build a business from the ground up. This time, I found myself using precise handheld computers to track sales, manage logistics, and ensure quality service. And when I finally discovered Nashville Software School I jumped at the chance to understand and build the kind of technology that helped me thrive in the business world.

Before beginning my journey into software development, I have fostered a creative approach through both my experience in the arts (Univ of South) and working as a Senior Desktop Technician at Uniguest. During this time, I always enjoyed investigating new systems, exploring their tools and unlocking their capabilities. It is with this approach and my current education at Nashville Software School that I hope to take part in communitty conversations and further the projects in my field.

Automation continues to make the world a smaller, more interconnected place. While implementing automation throughout my sales career, it became apparent to me that it would be imperative for me to sharpen my technical skill set in order to continue to add value in today's job market. This new education gives me the ability to utilize my sales experience while allowing me to be a more well-rounded professional.

I started to have a passion for computer programming when I started my first internship. I love learning new things, and solving challenging problems. I graduated from Trevecca in May 2020 with a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology and a minor in Specialized Computing. Before graduating I spoke with an old employer about my future. It became clear that I was not finished with schooling and the wisest plan of action would be to attend a software school.

I left the Army in May of 2018 and moved to Denver Colorado. After meeting some amazing people they pushed me to try a free one day course at a local bootcamp. I was hooked. My experience and desire to problem solve as well as my passion to help others and work in an ongoing learning environment fueled me to seek out a top notch bootcamp to cultivate my skills and become a software developer.

Before Nashville Software School, I spent the last few years working in the mortgage industry as a loan officer. Over the years, I realized that it wasn’t something I was passionate about and started to explore other career paths. The reason I enjoy software development is because I love building things, I love problem solving, and I love a challenge. I love everything about being a software developer and I’m excited to keep learning and improving my skills.
