I was reading this morning about some science facts like these this morning while I was having my coffee and it’s just amazing to me the facts of the known universe, space and time. It’s hard to fathom that in the next 10 years we might actually put the first human beings on the Planet Mars. 

Things like this tend to my Monday morning problems and anxieties into perspective. I am enamored with the power of God in these moments.

On today's episode I'm pondering Humility. Why is it so hard to be humble. The therapist Fritz Perls said, “….I am not in this world to live up to your expectations, and you are not in this world to live up to mine.” It’s a liberating idea. If that’s liberating then why is it so difficult for human beings to be more sensitive to being humble?

Friends, 2020 just gets stranger and stranger. It now appears the U.S. Govt. is taking UFO's more seriously with some in Congress believing there may be a credible national security threat.

Mother Love Bone…

The 90s grunge band you’ve never heard of. It's hard not to overstate how different rock music would be if Seattle rock band Mother Love Bone had been able to make a second album. Their combination of Seattle sounding grunge mixed in with late 90s glam and runny-mascara rock sounded like an existential prediction of where hair metal which was on the down hill side of it’s massive run throughout the 80s could go.

I just received my new Amazon order of 10 8x10 painting canvas. I intend on getting back to a hobby of mine which is painting. Frankly I’m not all that great at it but it’s something I enjoy and to be honest I think I’ve reached the bottom of the barrel of Netflix, Disney + and Hulu and Amazon Prime. I’m burned out so I decided a healthy alternative is to paint again. It’s also a stress reliever. So I thought I would start reading this book called Daily Rituals which is a catalog of short essays on the habits and rituals of over a 100 different artists to see if I can glean something from their habits which might help me create some triggers and rewards.

On today's episode I am reviewing the Album Meantime by Alt-Rock band Helmet. Meantime is the second studio album and major label debut by American alternative metal band Helmet, released on June 23, 1992 through Interscope Records. Helmet released one single from Meantime, "Unsung", which was a charting success on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart, and remains their best-known song. Music videos were also made for "Unsung", "Give It" and "In the Meantime".

The sound of Meantime, with Page Hamilton's staccato riffs, jazz-influenced chords and solos, and dual-voice singing style, proved influential to nu metal and alternative metal bands. This album, along with Betty and Aftertaste, is considered a definitive influence in post-metal. In 2017, Rolling Stone ranked Meantime as 54th on their list of 'The 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time.'

Here is a dangerous saying: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones." (Proverbs 3:5-7). That is the life of dangerous faith.
