The poem 'Television' takes a comic look at a serious problem among young children today. The poem warns us about the dangers of excessive television watching. The author tells us that the T.V. robs the mind of the power of imagination and creativity. Dahl in his characteristic exaggerated style warns that we we will become zombies if we keep staring uninterrupted at the television for long hours.

Henry Cuyler Bunner was an American novelist, journalist and poet who has written feelingly about the benefits of planting a tree. His poem describes the innumerable benefits of trees and the shade and shelter they bring to all life. He claims that people who plant trees plan for a future and for they do not know.

Authored by Santhini Govindan, this story portrays the journey of a young pup wishing for possessing the ability of wag.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR :
Set around Christmas, the story tells of a little girl who, unable to sell her match sticks dies of cold and hunger on the street even as, people are celebrating the birth of the Christ Child inside their warm cosy homes.
The tale is rich in irony, imagery and symbols, emphasising the need for compassion for those who have so much less that we do.
Authored by James Patrick Kinney, this poem describes the tragic death of a group of six who stand around a fire - each holding on grimly to a log of wood. Allowing their selfishness, prejudice, malice and suspicions to dictate their actions, they refuse to share the log to fuel the dying fire and keep each other warm.
Eventually, the fire dies out and in the morning all six of them are found frozen to death, each clutching , even in death, a log that could have so easily saved their lives if only they had overcome the petty barriers of class, race and religion that divided them
This prose demonstrates the power of narrative art. Hemingway takes a small, ordinary detail in a situation and through the art of story-telling transforms it into a powerful story about the tragedy of war.
The old man becomes a symbol of the countless civilian victims of war - those "without politics". Displaced, disoriented and alone, he is faced with the inevitability of death.
