Wow wow wow. What an incredible story that I am so honored to share. I met Dawn randomly on a Sunday at a bar downtown Holland. What started as a simple introduction led into us sitting down a couple weeks later together as she shared her story of finding light in the darkness. In 2018 her husband of now about 30 years got hit by a car and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. Now Dawn, her husband Dave, and their 3 children's lives will forever be changed. 

Join us as we sit and chat as Dawn shares with us stories of her and Dave both before and after the accident. We get to learn about how special their family is, the battles that didn't break her but tried, the power of her children, how life continues after chaos, and the true devotion of marriage. 

Dawn, you badass, I am so glad you exist. Thank you for being so open, genuine and vulnerable. And Dave, in you and your family's honor, go Blue!

This episode was a long time coming and I am so excited we finally got to sit down together! I met Ruth Crowe at her ArtPrize exhibition last fall and immediately was drawn to her vulnerability. Listen in as Ruth gives a very inspiring conversation about taking risks, the importance of community, the significance of the word 'try,' and fighting the battles in our minds on a daily basis. Going from taking 30 years off making art to owning her own gallery, we get an insight to the life pivots it took to get where Ruth is now as well as the risks. "You lose little bits of yourself when you keep playing it safe." Don't let that fear hold you back.

Her care for others is amazing and she helps remind us to be kind humans as we are all facing challenges. Rebecca shares with us her teaching journey, how she finds community, and her experience of growing up Catholic while also being queer.  She shares with us how she's learned so much about herself and how a simple sentence can help someone dearly.
