Storms down tree on Regional Rail line, trigger several tornado warnings

Listen Later

Tuesday night’s storms triggered several tornado warnings and brought down trees all over the Philadelphia region.
However, the National Weather Service said there’s no evidence that a tornado touched down.
There were 68 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail in Pottstown, Montgomery County.
Meanwhile, service was suspended for hours on SEPTA’s West Trenton Regional Rail Line because of a downed tree. The tree came down near Meadowbrook Station in Montgomery County. Passengers were forced to get off.
SEPTA said the tree has been cleared and the overhead wires were repaired early Wednesday morning.
The storm knocked out power to 20,000 customers, PECO said, most of them in Chester County. (Photo credit: NBC10)
