It has been several weeks, actually months, since the release of the last episode. Sometimes life and a full-time career with nearly unlimited overtime combined with a young and busy family just get in the way. In any case, I am back and am excited to share with you my thoughts around inspections and as-builts. I share some of my experiences and my thoughts on how things continue to change throughout my career.
As I recorded and edited this episode, I realized how out of practice I am so please bear with me.

Do you ever consciously consider the language you are speaking? Have you ever explained something to someone and had them look at you like they were lost, just nodding their head? Then this might be the episode you have been waiting for. I discuss my approach and my success of speaking a language that others understand - so much so that other engineers and past clients call me to ask questions because they don't understand something. It is one of the most rewarding parts of my job - helping others.

Overall I give this product a positive review and rate the process 4.6 out of 5 stars!
In the news this week, I talk about the cost of stormwater and how a Pennsylvania solar builder is paying $1.14 million in fines related to their 2018 construction project in Williamsburg, MA.

Ellicott City, Maryland was struck by two floods that result from storms with an intensity estimated to be a 1:1000 probability of recurrence in July 2016 and again in May 2018. These storms caused devastating destruction and death. In this episode, I recap my 2017 article about the storm, published in STORMWATER magazine. Visit infinitestormwater.com/002
Stormwater management is commonly referred to as a challenge, but have you ever considered it a problem. In this episode, I discuss the concept of Stormwater being an Infinite Problem that cannot be solved with a single solution. I explain how the approach to an infinite problem considers more than solving the task at hand, it requires a mindset that will adapt over time.
