Day 56 — “If Your Presence Does Not Go with Us”
📖 Exodus 33
After the golden calf, Israel had broken covenant. Judgment was deserved. Distance from God would have been understandable.
But Moses doesn’t ask for strategy.
He doesn’t ask for prosperity.
He doesn’t ask for protection.
He asks for presence.
“If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” (Ex. 33:15)
That is the heart of biblical faith.
Moses understood something we often forget:
Success without God is failure.
Movement without God is wandering.
Blessing without God is emptiness.
God offers Israel the Promised Land — but warns that His presence will not go with them in the same way because of their sin. Moses refuses to proceed without Him.
Because what makes God’s people distinct is not land, influence, or victory.
It is nearness.
In a culture that measures progress by platforms and results, Exodus 33 reminds us that the true measure of blessing is the presence of God.
If He goes with us, we can face anything.
If He does not, nothing else matters.
Today ask yourself:
Would I still want the promise if I lost His presence?
Would I still move forward if God were not in it?
Biblical Christianity says:
“Lord, if You don’t go with us, we’re not going.”
