Story Time with Soha Ali Khan

Have you heard of the Telephone Game? In this game, one person whispers something into another’s ear. The second person then repeats the words to the third person. The third passes on the message to the fourth. And the chain continues. By the time the message comes to the last person, it sounds nothing like the original message! This is pretty much what happens in today’s story, called The Rumor, written by Anushka Ravishankar and published by Karadi Tales, and it has vibrant illustrations by Kanyika Kini.

This week’s story will make you fall in love with the carefree days where we have pet names for teachers, and code language only our closest friends understand! Aren’t we all super-creative when it comes to this? Night of The Doberman is a story written by Lavanya Karthik and is part of a book titled Adventure Stories’ Flipped Anthology series, published by HarperCollins. Today, we are going to listen to a short version of this story.

This week, we’re going back to school. But, this is no ordinary school! It’s a school for grasshoppers and ants and centipedes all sorts of tiny insects… umm… people. And they have a peculiar problem at hand. Today’s story is written by Khyrunnisa A, published by Scholastic India in The Lizard of Oz and Other Stories. ‘The Watermelon God’, written by Neha Singh, is a short story that is part of a collection of stories for kids called Moongphali and published by Rupa. This story is about Nandu who is in class 1 and has a fancy dress competition coming up, but things don’t go as planned.
