Through storytelling we're able to not only connect with others, but connect with ourselves; as we discover that those we interact with are often times our mirrors. Listening to anothers' story helps us appreciate or finally acknowledge things in ourselves we once ignored. Speaking our truth and telling our story is a way to reclaim our power.
Yet, "Telling the truth about one's life is not simply about naming the "bad" things, exposing horrors. It is also about being able to speak openly about feelings, about a variety of experiences."
In this episode, the host, Danielle Young, is joined by Karlene Graham and Sierra Craig as they discuss what storytelling and truth telling has done for them and what needs to be present in order to story-tell.
