Lela and her owner, author Robert Frascone, were once told by a tracking dog club that Lela was ineligible to join in certification testing because she was a mixed breed dog. Undeterred, they inquired into becoming members of their local County Sheriff's Search Dog Unit Unit. Lela was given a tryout and their adventure began.
