In hindsight, I've been divinely protected my entire life and I'm kinda happy that I didn't notice. I feel like the weight of that protection would have resulted in an unnecessary self-imposed responsibility to make things "easier" on the divine by not being as reckless as I have been (sorry, Mommy). I'm so grateful that someone, somewhere has kept me safe and exposed me to harm, within reason, for the sake of my growth (and for a binge-worthy autobiography one day).
