Raja Parikshit heard Shrimad Bhagwat from Shri Shukdev, son of Rishi Ved Vyas. Raja Parikshit was condemned to death. To peacefully accept his destiny, Parikshit started listening to Bhagwat in his last seven days. He left his body for a higher world after listening to this Mahapuran. Listening to this Mahapuran gives emancipation to those who listen to it.
