We finally achieved the monumental milestone: 100 EPISODES!!! WOUHOU!!!
To celebrate, we decided we wanted to have an entertaining episode and the first thing that came to our mind was: Nic Cage. Is there anything better than an amazing Nicholas Cage performance? That’s right, we didn’t think so either.
We also had the immense pleasure of being joined by Selin and Ronny on this episode. It was a lot of fun and we hope you came in here not expecting too much out of this. National Treasure is a pretty silly and fun historical film, and we treated it as such. It’s not a bad thing, on the contrary, we thoroughly enjoyed these aspects of the film. Just don’t expect deep deconstructions and cinematic studies as usual on these kinds of episodes. This podcast was just for us to have a good time with you as well as offering you a lot of funny bits, and trust me, there are a lot.
For the brews, we first drank the $USD$ from the microbrewery Sir John, a beautiful Juicy Double IPA, evocative of the very tropical beers from this brewery. Also, the iconography from this can be just outrageous, and we couldn’t make this podcast without it.
And finally, to celebrate such a big achievement, we got a very special beer out of the cellar. Like the legendary historical figures discussed in the film, this microbrewery is unfortunately a shadow from the past, as it permanently closed down in 2019. We shared their brew: ‘’La Trève’’; a gorgeous winter warmer-styled beer (I mistakenly said it was a stout during the episode). This beer commemorates the historical event when the British and the Germans had a cease-fire on Christmas Day of 1914 during World War I. A truly beautiful association for such a noble beer.
Thank you to all the amazing guests who took part in this adventure throughout the years. You have given so much to me and I am forever grateful for what you’ve given to this passion project.
