How do you define "self"? 

(i.e. the totality of your being) 

Although this podcast began as the "podcast about nothing". It did not take long before we found a direction. 

I had a great conversation with my guest (who chose to be anonymous). She shared some salient points from her experience and we sought to understand the concept of "self".

It was an insightful conversation that seeks to better understand the age-old philosophical problem of "mind vs body". 

We also spoke about how everything is energy in motion. And how vibration is a constant in life and how our understanding of the world is based on vibrational patterns.  

I really enjoyed this conversation and I think these types of conversations are crucial. It was a great philosophical discussion that emanated from a consistent need to better understand ourselves and the external world in which we exist

We need to seek to understand ourselves and the world around us. It is important to embrace curiosity and constantly seek to learn more.

In episode six of my podcast, I brought together a poet, 2 musicians, and a magician (four of the most self-aware people I have met) and we had an honest conversation about religion.

In this conversation, everyone spoke about their religious views. Funny how everyone started as either Christian or Muslim. However, over the years, people found their own true beliefs. 

Some of the things we spoke about:

- the spiritual journey (the journey to self/awareness) and how each person has been able to find that.

- the history of religion and how it became so popular in the world.

- the concept of polygamy in Islam and how many people misinterpret what the Qu’ran says.

- Some hidden messages of some passages in Psalms 23 where the bible said “he rubs my head with oil”.

- That Goliath was the underdog in the David vs Goliath story and how the decision was a strategic one.

- Our traditional religious beliefs and how it is our own form of science as Africans but we have been conditioned to demonize these beliefs.

- how religion has been used as a tool to colonize our minds and wipe out African history.

- and lots more.

You either use Money or money uses you.  

In this episode, I spoke about understanding money and explained how this understanding can help improve our collective awareness and intelligence as a society.    

As someone from Nigeria, I have seen a lot of misconceptions about Money. It almost feels like we don't really understand the true value behind money. We worship money (and not the value behind it) and this takes a toll on our value system. It results in a chaotic society where everyone and everything is for sale. 

It also causes people to assume that money can create or replace a true sense of self (values, purpose, and other character traits).

I hope we can start having conversations and make people appreciate the value behind money. So we don't have people blindly chasing all their lives.

In this episode, I spoke about self-awareness and how being self-aware can help us have a better world.  

In a world as connected as ours, it is important to have conversations about self-awareness. Human development has gone far and this can get overwhelming without consciousness (which is an awakening of the mind). It is easy to get lost in the systems of the world and feel helpless in that loop. 

Without an awareness of self, you will simply go through life as a perceiver and never really experience consciousness first-hand. 

When you are self-aware, you would not get too carried away with your role in the world that you become the role. Rather, you will carry out whatever role you choose in the universe with a full-on awareness.

Man is a social animal. However, over time, our definition of "social" has really changed. 

In this episode, I spoke about some of the effects of social media on humanity and how it is gradually leading to the evolution of our species. 

These conversations are important for everyone that uses social media. We have all become willful addicts of these precious tools that daily overload us with information. Therefore, the least we can do is understand the effects it has on us. 

This understanding is a first step in helping us to better utilize and optimize social media.   

Social media (like everything in the universe) is supposed to amplify consciousness. However, the mistake here is that we are replacing consciousness with the new meaning of "social" and it is hurting humanity. 

Never blur the lines between social media and real life so badly that you can't differentiate and step aside from this imaginary "social" world.

My identity as an African is my greatest influence and it affects everything I do. 

One of the greatest problems I see in Africa is the fact that we are too focused on differences to unite and make Africa greater. In achieving the vast potential of our continent, we all need to step into the challenge of building Africa. We need to focus on educating the minds of the people so that more people can see the game. 

I wrote this to every African, hoping that we can have a continent-wide awakening. One day at a time, it will happen.
