The Bible is the ONLY way to know God!

Interpreting Scripture is not an easy task but with several KEY elements guiding our minds when reading, we can rest assured we are not going to make grave errors. The ORIGINAL meaning is what we should be looking for in the Bible, not "our" meaning. Of course, there is an application, but that is derived from the original intent. Without sticking to these two things we can be sure we'll take Scripture out of context when we teach it to others and will be guilty of error!

So we'll just have to use what we have. While not a necessary 'tool' in our belt for interpretation, knowing and realizing that the bible is an OLD set of writings is imperative. Not because it is out-dated, but because there may be some things in there that we don't need to mash into our contemporary timeline.

Narratives tell what happened, they don't always tell us what we are to do. When we apply narratives wrongly we can actually cause people to walk in sin out of ignorance and worse, even hurt their fellow man. This podcast will talk about this error and give a few examples such as the daughters thrown out during the destruction of Sodom; Jesus' cleansing the temple, and the Apostles calling out heretics. Let's listen and learn.
