The Tigers, with a “miracle in Atlanta, defeated Tom Izzo and the two-seed Michigan State Spartans 70-64 on Sunday night behind a tournament-defying game from Johni Broome. With a dominant first half, a gruesome injury in the second half, and a return to the game that no Auburn fan will forget, Johni Broome helped lift his team to victory and to history. The Tigers take to San Antonio for the Final Four and will be competing against the 1-seed from the West region, the Florida Gators. An SEC Final Four with championship aspirations on the line! Auburn advances to play Michigan State with a berth in the Final Four on the line. Johni Broome finished with 22 points and 16 rebounds, Tahaad Pettiford hit a couple of crazy shots while Broome and Chad Baker-Mazara were on the bench in foul trouble, and Denver Jones came up huge with three straight baskets midway through the second half, helping Auburn regain the lead and never look back. Auburn East represented in a major way in Atlanta, as were Vince Wolfram and Jojo Cavanagh.

In the second round of the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the overall number one seed Auburn Tigers defeated the nine seed Creighton Bluejays 82-70. Tahaad Pettiford was the difference off the bench for Auburn, along with the “Night-Night” celebration and dagger from Denver Jones in the second half. Chad Baker-Mazara was absolutely a large proponent of the offense, with those three guys each scoring in double-figures. Auburn moves on to the second weekend of the tournament, the Sweet 16, for the first time since its final four run in 2019. The Tigers are set to face 5-seed Michigan, and Vince Wolfram and Jojo Cavanagh are here to break it all down!

Auburn is sticking around this NCAA Tournament longer than last year, even if the Tigers didn't play with the energy coach Bruce Pearl wants to see. Miles Kelly made seven 3-pointers and scored 23 points, All-American Johni Broome added 14 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 1 seed Auburn beat 16th-seeded Alabama State 83-63 on Thursday in the first round of the South Region. Vince Wolfram was at the game in Lexington at Rupp Arena and Jojo Cavanagh was tuned in from Auburn.

The weekend in Nashville didn’t quite go as expected for many Auburn fans. Auburn, the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, got bounced by the Tennessee Volunteers in the semifinals on Saturday. After a win over Ole Miss in a Johni Broome-led victory on Friday, the Tigers and Broome tried to rally on Saturday in a similar fashion but came up short. In his Neville Arena finale, All-American Johni Broome scored a career-high 34 points, but Mark Sears beat the buzzer with a jumper from the free-throw line to give No. 7 Alabama a 93-91 win Saturday on Senior Day at Neville Arena.Broome showed why he is a leading national player of the year candidate, adding eight rebounds, five blocked shots, three steals and three assists in 43 minutes. Next for Auburn, the SEC tournament in Nashville. The Tigers begin play on Friday at 1pm in the Quarterfinal.

No.1 Auburn traveled to College Station to play a prepared Buzz Williams and Texas A&M team and fell to the Aggies, 83-72. Auburn didn’t have the legs and A&M capitalized. Marching toward a championship, No. 1 Auburn erased decades of big blue disappointment, defeating No. 17 Kentucky 94-78 Saturday, the Tigers’ first win at Rupp Arena since 1988. Miles Kelly made nine 3-pointers and led Auburn with 30 points, helping the Tigers clinch the Southeastern Conference title while improving to 8-0 in SEC road games.
