Not quite horror but an interesting movie with a murder mystery feel to it. To be blunt this movie is kind of odd and not what one would expect. With it being October, we thought it necessary to get in the spirit and start watching scary movies, but it wouldn't be Straight to TV if we didn't watch a questionable one from Netflix. The Wretched is about a teenager that visits his dad and finds out that some weird things were happening at their neighbors house. Being a curious teenager, he tries to find out. For our first non-English movie, we bring to you Kung Fu Hustle. A parody Kung Fu movie that makes fun of other well known Chinese martial arts movies. Hard to describe as there is a lot that is lost in translation, but basically, a couple grifters end up crossing paths with a notorious Chinese gang. In doing so, they end up in a war between the working class and the gang. One of the grifters finds out that he has abilities that he did not know he had, dating back to a book he received as a young child. Listen in for our review and thoughts on the movie. We are back with another vampire movie with not as well known actors. Honestly closer to a B-rate movie but with an interesting and adult friendly story. A vampire who lost his ability to grow his fangs is a professor at a college named Wayne Gretzky (no relation) meets a student who has something about her that is familiar to him. Victor found us an interesting one for this episode. Vampire movie meets 18 year old's dream movie. Alyssa Milano stars in this movie and for any big Alyssa Milano fans, you have either seen this or really should. The most memorable parts are the parts tied to the female anatomy that are shown plentifully. Otherwise it is a lackluster movie that was known more for the boobs that the story. Video Game turned movie that has mixed reviews among players of the game. Imagine you go to jail for killing a family member who was abusing other family members. While serving your sentence, the CIA recruits you for a new group that no one knows about. You are trained to be a killer and then things go sideways. Well that is the premise of The Gray Man. Found on Netflix, this movie feels familiar but holds your interest throughout. Spencer Confidential is a Netflix original movie that stars Mark Wahlberg. Mark Wahlberg plays a Boston PD officer that has an unfortunate run in with a fellow police officer that leads to him going to prison. Following prison he gets out and finds out that some sketchy things were happening in Boston PD and starts doing some detective work on his own. Obi-Wan Kanobi follows the life of Obi Wan Kanobi between episodes 3 and 4 and can be found on Disney+. A great take on the characters years between the Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker. One of the best known Jedis from the series searches for the kidnapped Princess Leia and does some soul searching along the way.
