Strange Darkness Radio

Welcome to Episode 76

What really happens when consciousness leaves the body? In this episode, your hosts Bobby Washington, Amy Tydeman, Carolyn Grey, and Mike Hernandez dive deep into the world of astral projection and out-of-body experiences. They discuss what astral projection is and why it continues to fascinate researchers, skeptics, and experiencers alike.

Next, they listen to interviews on astral projection, including Robert Monroe, founder of the Monroe Institute, exploring his own experiences, laying the foundation for his groundbreaking work on consciousness, altered states, and the idea that awareness may exist beyond the physical body.

Then, things get personal.

We’re joined by Strange Darkness Radio’s bonus show co-host, Kyler Jackson, who shares a firsthand out-of-body experience—what it felt like and what he saw.

Finally, on Open Line, are submissions by listeners describing their personal experiences with astral projection.

Whether you’re a skeptic, a seeker, or just a little curious, this episode invites you to sit with the question:

Episode 74 –

In this episode of Strange Darkness Radio, we open the door to a story that began in a place meant to be sterile, silent, controlled—a laboratory. Mike Fernandez recounts moments when the hum of machines gave way to something far more unsettling: chanting, unexplained sounds, and the unmistakable feeling of being observed by something unseen.

From there, the veil thins even further. Mike shares deeply personal experiences with Ouija boards, family paranormal encounters passed down like whispered warnings, and the kind of moments that linger long after the lights are turned off. These aren’t stories meant to shock—they’re stories that follow you.

This episode also marks an important turning point. We officially welcome Mike Fernandez as the newest host of Strange Darkness Radio. A new voice joins the signal—curious, grounded, and unafraid to step into the unknown.

So listen closely.

In the quiet spaces…

In the pauses between words…

Ask yourself the same question Mike did:

Do you hear that?

On this Strange Darkness Radio Bonus Show, the crew gathers beneath black wings and curious omens as Ed DonGilli reads Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven—a chilling moment that sets the tone and opens the door to deeper reflection.

From there, the conversation takes flight into the symbolism of ravens and magpies, exploring what these birds represent across culture, psychology, and personal belief. Ed DonGilli pontificates on whether people should tap into their darker side—or at least stop pretending it doesn’t exist.

Joined by Bobby Washington, Marlee Grounds, and Kyla Jackson, the discussion flows freely between shadow work, creative thought, and behind-the-scenes talk about the show itself. Laughter, curiosity, and honest conversation collide, reminding listeners that darkness doesn’t always come to haunt—it sometimes comes to teach.

This is a true Bonus Show: unscripted, thoughtful, playful, and unapologetically Strange Darkness Radio.

Episode 73 –

A Strange Darkness Radio Holiday Event — Hosted by Benson

Step into the frost-covered shadows of Christmas night as Strange Darkness Radio presents a chilling holiday anthology hosted entirely by our spectral guide… Benson.

In this special Christmas edition, Benson returns with a lantern in hand to lead you through seven haunting folklore legends drawn from ancient winter traditions. These are the spirits the carols forget, the shadows the lights try to chase away, and the reminders that in winter… anything is possible.

Journey with us as we encounter:

❄️ Gljúpni — The Hollow Boy of Ice

A frozen child who measures kindness in the cold.

❄️ Hodeken — The Goblin of Secrets

A tiny Christmas spirit who exposes hidden truths.

❄️ The Kallikantzaroi — Greek Underworld Goblins

Creatures who nearly destroy the world every year.

❄️ The Mari Lwyd — The Horse Skull That Wants In

Lose a rhyme, and she crosses your threshold.

❄️ The Christmas Bell Witch

A voice you miss… calling from the frosted dark.

❄️ The Red Dancers

Crimson frost spirits who wait for one misstep.

❄️ The Phantom Sleigh of the Dutch Marshes

Silent… soundless… deadly.

Each tale flows into the next like a cinematic winter journey, culminating in an original haunted Christmas carol: “Winter Things That Walk.”

From Bobby Washington and all the hosts of Strange Darkness Radio —

thank you for an incredible year of mysteries, stories, and supernatural adventures.

We hope you enjoyed this Christmas folklore special.

Merry Christmas… and may your shadows stay outside.

Episode 72 –

Hosts: Bobby Washington • Vanessa Scaduto • Ed DonGilli

Special Guest: Author Tim Moon

Tonight, something familiar returns… and something brand-new steps into the light.

We welcome back author and explorer Tim Moon, the mind behind the eerie and unforgettable Tomato Fields. Tim teases the hidden shape of his upcoming follow-up book and shares stories from his continued search for Bigfoot—those wild-footed mysteries that wander the borders between our world and something older, deeper, stranger.

But Tim’s journey has also taken him somewhere unexpected—

not into the woods… but into the glow of the digital frontier.

Tim reveals how he now uses artificial intelligence as an ally—a companion, a creative friend, a tool that walks beside him as he explores new ideas. Nothing replaces the human spark, but AI has become another lantern he carries into the dark.

And that’s where the conversation sharpens.

The panel leans into the question:

When does partnership become reliance? And when does reliance start to blur the line?

A gentle friction rises, a push-and-pull between excitement for what AI can do… and caution for what it might do in a world racing toward the unknown.

Tonight also marks a milestone:

Ed DonGilli makes his main show debut, stepping up from the Bonus Show with passion, sincerity, and that unmistakable “Larry David of Strange Darkness Radio” charm—

a blend of heartfelt truth, offbeat timing, and grounded wisdom that brings a whole new frequency to the studio.

He’s real. He’s thoughtful. And he’s here to stay.

Together—Bobby, Vanessa, Ed, and Tim—

we explore the intersection where folklore meets futurism,

where Bigfoot’s shadow crosses paths with the rising light of artificial intelligence.

This is Strange Darkness Radio… where the past and future meet in the dark.

Episode 71 –

In this Thanksgiving Special, host Bobby Washington sits down with cohosts Amy Tydeman, Marlee Grounds, Ed DonGilli, and Kyler Jackson for a rare and intimate round-table conversation about how the show has shaped their beliefs, their curiosity, and their personal growth.

Instead of sharing a traditional holiday meal, the team reflects on the moments that challenged their assumptions about the supernatural — the stories that stirred old memories, shifted their perspectives, or opened doors to possibilities they hadn’t considered before. Together, they explore the balance between skepticism and wonder, and what it means to walk the line between what’s explainable and what remains a mystery.

Bobby also pays tribute to the voices who helped build the show’s foundation: Tony Carr, Frankie Franks, Vanessa Scuduto, and Carolyn Grey — honoring the journey, the contributors, and the spirit that helped shape its evolution.

This episode is thoughtful, candid, funny, and deeply human — a warm Thanksgiving reflection on belief, growth, teamwork, and the mysteries that keep them returning to the mic.

The bonus crew returns with another strange dive into the unknown — this time, into the dark waters of Lake Lanier, a man-made lake in northern Georgia with a history as deep as it is haunted.

Before the episode begins, the hosts catch up on life. Ed DonGilli’s been busy scouring yard sales and estate cleanouts, uncovering rare curiosities — including a few items bought from a funeral home liquidation. Only Ed could make that sound like a normal weekend.

Then, we head below the surface of Lake Lanier — a lake built in the 1950s that swallowed whole towns, cemeteries, and memories. Over the years, it’s earned a grim reputation: strange drownings, ghostly sightings, and rumors of restless spirits from the flooded past. Marlee, Kyler, and Bobby peel back the layers — the history, the hauntings, and the questions no one can quite answer.

What lingers beneath those waters? What happens when the past is buried but not gone?

🎧 Strange Darkness Radio – Bonus Episode: Lake Lanier

Hosts: Bobby Washington | Marlee Grounds | Ed DonGilli | Kyler Jackson

The bonus crew dives into the dark legend of Lake Lanier, one of America’s most haunted lakes.

Before we wade into those eerie waters, we catch up with the crew — and of course, Ed DonGilli’s been out treasure-hunting again. From yard sales full of oddities to a funeral-home liquidation, Ed’s been collecting the kind of strange relics only he could find.

Then we turn to the mystery beneath the surface — a man-made lake built over once-living towns, cemeteries, and roads. Since its creation in the 1950s, Lake Lanier has claimed hundreds of lives and spawned countless ghost stories: the Lady of the Lake, phantom boats, and spirits said to rise from the depths.

Join Bobby, Marlee, Ed, and Kyler as they explore the chilling history, hauntings, and unanswered questions surrounding the lake that refuses to stay quiet.

🕯️ Another eerie and entertaining journey with the Strange Darkness Radio bonus crew.

This Halloween, Strange Darkness Radio welcomes back Carolyn Grey for a night of eerie reconnection. We explore the chilling phenomenon of “Phone Calls from the Dead,” inspired by the work of D. Scott Rogo and Raymond Bayless, who first documented true cases of people receiving calls from beyond.

Between discussions, we share three real listener stories from Reddit—each one a haunting encounter with voices that shouldn’t exist. Amy Tydeman also returns with her Creepy Questions: Halloween Edition, adding the perfect twist of darkness to an already spectral night.

It’s a séance through sound and a reminder: when the phone rings this Halloween, think twice before you answer.
