Dissent is becoming unmanageable as the forces of indoctrination and propaganda are rapidly losing the ability to quell it.  Many see the conflict between what is and what can be and are no longer willing to accept what is. The promise of reforms and spending programs like the stimulus are attempts to paper over a failed system.  When those promised significant reforms manifest as superficial reforms the volcano may erupt.  In that case, massive State violence will be utilized.  That has traditionally been a last resort as it exposes the actual tyranny of the system.

While massively profiting in a capitalist system, the healthcare industry in its many iterations operates outside of market forces.  Why can't we buy healthcare as informed consumers?  Any other service or product is sold in a market economy where the the market determines price.

I absolutely love actual market capitalism, as opposed to what we have now -- crony capitalism and monopoly capitalism. Though my analysis comes from a critical perspective, I'm not a socialist.
