In our first, allegedly true story, from user leprus_americanus, a hiker goes missing for one of the previously mentioned reasons, and a search and rescue operation dispatched to locate them encounters something both unexplainable, and tragic. And, in our second, allegedly true tale, originally published to the Missing 411 SubReddit by user REP143, a man and his family come into contact with something strange. After hearing of the Missing 411 phenomenon, this user would go on to speculate that they may have come across, and possibly narrowly escaped, becoming part of the very phenomenon Paulides investigates. On an isolated and rural farmstead in Palmyra, Maine, the Martin family felt like they had found the perfect home.
