From Waterlogg Productions comes this charming collection of 25 Spanish Children's Stories by Pedro Pablo Sacristan. I was kind of curious to know what kind of fairy tales Spanish children listen to, but guess what, they're very much like the fairy tales that any other children listen to. It just goes to show you, people are people no matter where they are. Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight.

Well, I'm not going to tell you about every single story in Pedro's Fables, there are just too many of them, but here are a few of my favorites:

In The Lazy Bird, one little bird would rather spend his days sleeping and relaxing instead of working with the other birds to prepare for the long trip. But after a long, hard winter away from all of his friends, this is one little bird who learns the value of working hard and pitching in.

In The Poor Bunny's Magic Present, a little bunny rabbit meets a wizard who gives him some magical flower bouquets. Even though the bunny is rather hungry, he decides to save his bouquets rather than eat them. But on his way home, he meets several other animals that are even poorer and hungrier than he is and so, following his parents' advice, he shares what he has.

Wonderful Little Gem!!

Talented Author Cindy Hanson has a story to share and share it she does in her well-written, inspirational, children's book "A Mighty Eagle". She expertly does so with a wonderful cast of characters starting with the help of Nathan the Narrator who captures our hearts with the tales of a beloved bird by the name of Sally. Adult and child alike can easily relate to the plight of Sally as she searches for true love and acceptance in this world we call home.

The reader is readily drawn into the daily ups and downs of Sally's journey and the many challenges, joys, and sorrows that this endearing little bird faces. Sally, who is injured at birth after a fall from the cozy nest where she was meant to be hatched, faces many unanswered questions such as "Where am I?", "Who am I?" and "Where's Home Sweet Home?" In her search for these answers, Sally comes across many likeable characters to help her find her way. For a time, she joyfully manages to become part of the Holstein family, C.O.W. (Creatures Of Worth) until they decide to move to greener pastures. Sally is then faced with much sadness and sorrow as she continues on her quest for true love and acceptance.

When reading "A Mighty Eagle", another book I received as a gift many years ago kept popping into my mind. It is the work of Best Selling Author, Robert Fulghum, "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten". I realize "A Mighty Eagle" is classified as a children's book, but rest assured it is an allegorical little gem packed with many of life's moral, values, and lessons to be learned. In my opinion, it can be easily utilized as an educational tool to reinforce the concept of the MOST HIGH and our need to pray and ask for guidance in our daily tasks.

Dr. Cindy Hanson uses her education, skills, and even more importantly her desire to answer her own calling by God to work as an instrument of love, faith, and hope by teaching about true love and acceptance. Both adult and child are given the opportunity to learn from and enjoy the gifts of "rhyme and poetic language" adeptly incorporated into this wonderful work of art by Dr.
