On this episode the ladies have decided to discuss ‘Women + Cannabis’ and the issues that surround that topic. Izzy hosted the conversation with the support from the rest of the group for a great discussion.
I guess the question is: Do you smoke? And if so, what does cannabis mean to you?
We hope you enjoy!
Sincerely,
She Says

“I think I smoked to much”, was the popular phrase leaving our 4.20 podcast session on Saturday. Dom and I sat down with our returning 4.20 guest Skiggity. Skiggity (@skiggity.skiggity) for a very smokey conversation. Skiggity shares how he started his business, his projects and how he always smokes to create great ideas. Guest: Kay Martinez, owner and barber of K’s Barber Shop
It was a Saturday afternoon as I crossed over State Line Road into Kansas to meet Kay Martinez, owner and barber of K’s Barber Shop located in Overland Park, Kansas at 7140 West 80th Street. As I entered into his shop, the layout and vibe was dope! They’ve teamed up with KC Culture (@kc_culture), a local buying and selling streetwear and sneaker company and had them set up a store front at the barber shop. What a cool element to bring into the barber shop. Kay and I sat down in the back of the shop and discused his upbringing in Honduras, his journey of finding his career and how he’s working hard to build a future for himself and his family.
I met with Huss West at the Riot Room (@riotroomkc), located in Westport at 4048 Broadway Blvd. Kansas City, Missouri. We stood outside the venue as Huss was preparing for his release party of his album ‘SelfCare’. We discussed his vision for the new album, his love for the city and more. Sit back, relax and enjoy the story! Also, you can listen to ‘SelfCare’ on all streaming platforms NOW!
Guest: Jeff Evans, owner of Mean Mule Distilling Co.
It was an early Saturday morning for Jeff and I as we sat down at Mean Mule Distilling Co. after a late First Friday’s bash. Water and coffee keeping us alive. After complimenting Jeff on his beard and style, we dived into the story of how Mean Mule became Mean Mule. Their new shop is incredible! It has a Texas/Nevada feel with a midwest vibe.(You’ll have to come check it out!!!) We want to thank Jeff and his team for allowing us to come in on a Saturday morning to chat and record. If you are in the crossroads area on Friday, April 12th, come by Mean Mule Distilling Co. for a delicious blue agave infused drink!
This week: A distiller is building their own kind of playground. The world’s largest “green” apartment building is going up fast. The West Bottoms transformation is in full swing. More project announcements for Troost, and much more!
I sat down with Charles Swavy, designer and student at the Kansas City Art Institute, at the campus cafe, located at 4415 Warwick Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri. We discussed his upbringing, his love for designing and creating garments and more! Sit back, relax and enjoy the story!
