As they leave, they hear footsteps following them and are attacked by the hooded figure, who takes Sarah into the darkness, never to be seen again.The news of their disappearance spreads quickly, and the hooded figure becomes a legend. The residents of Millfield struggle to survive, and some of them decide to venture outside of town to find help. They encounter the hooded figure, but they band together to attack it and emerge victorious.The residents of Millfield work together to find a way to break the curse and bring back the sun. After decades of searching, they discover an ancient ritual that can break the curse and restore the sun to Millfield. They perform the ritual, and the sun begins to rise once more, finally breaking the curse of the eternal darkness.Mark, who had spent the rest of his life haunted by the memory of his wife's disappearance, finally finds closure.
