Vulnerability is defined in Webster’s Dictionary as the quality or state of being exposed to the possibility of being attacked or harmed, either physically or emotionally. We believe that vulnerability is both necessary and good. Although our society has made vulnerability something to be looked down upon as a sign of weakness, we believe that it is a God-gifted space for us to experience true freedom from guilt and shame. We believe that walking in true vulnerability means that you are capable of giving yourself space to live in 100% authenticity of who you really are, how you feel, and what you think no matter who is in the room, no matter the risk. It means that you are open to attack or damage that may come from how people recieve the truths that you hold. This might sound harsh or unwise, but it isn’t. It is the key to freedom from guilt, shame, anger, and fear.
We believe that vulnerability is the key to an intimate relationship with God, to raw, unfiltered and authentic friendships, to emotional healing, and to discover the depths of our identity in Christ. Vulnerability allows you to be not only seen, but deeply known. It allows you to understand what it means to be loved unconditionally in the truth.
