in childhood, developed through gymnastics and sportswear, and took off after he tried on his first pair of leggings. Once he moved into his own place, that early curiosity grew into a collection large enough to occupy half of an IKEA wardrobe.

In this episode of Stretching the Truth, I sit down with someone I discovered on Instagram whose collection of tights, leggings, and spandex gear immediately caught my attention — Canadian Tights Guy. From bold colors to mesh pieces and perfectly coordinated outfits, his posts celebrate creativity, confidence, and the freedom to wear what you love.

We dive into how his journey with spandex started, going all the way back to his teenage years discovering different fabrics and the way tight materials highlight the body. Like many guys exploring gear and identity, curiosity turned into experimentation, which eventually evolved into a full-blown passion for tights, leggings, and performance fabrics. Over time that curiosity expanded into both athletic gear and more expressive styles.  

One of the most fascinating parts of our conversation is how he blends masculinity and femininity in his style. As a muscular, traditionally masculine guy, he enjoys challenging expectations by wearing mesh, shiny fabrics, and colorful tights while still embracing his masculine presence. His goal isn’t shock value — it’s breaking the old rules about what men “should” wear and showing that confidence can make any style work.  

We also talk about the evolution of his collection and how social media helped him share it with the world. What started as something private eventually became an outlet for creativity. We did a deep dive before on long suits, and since so many of you loved that conversation, it was time to come back and give short suits their moment.

We get into tri suits, technical swimwear, and why they can be such a great entry point if you’re curious about short suits but not sure where to start. We talk fit, stretch, comfort, brands, and how some of these technical fabrics are on a whole other level. Some are affordable, some are high-end, and some are just plain hot.

From there, we move into wrestling singlets, running suits, and track-inspired gear, including the brands people love, the cuts that work best, and why so many of us can’t get enough of that sporty, sleek look. There’s a lot of passion in this one, and if you’re into athletic gear, you’re going to hear a few things to add to your wish list.

We also spend time on dancewear, glamour singlets, leotards, and bodysuits—because let’s be honest, that’s where things get really interesting. We talk about what works for men, what to look for in fit and cut, and why more guys should absolutely be exploring these styles without shame. There’s a lot more out there than most people realize, and this episode proves it.

But one of my favorite parts of this conversation is that it goes beyond just gear. Scott and I also talk about community, making real connections with other gear guys, and building something bigger here in the States. That’s a huge part of what I want Stretching the Truth to be—yes, we’re talking gear, but we’re also building a place where guys can feel seen, heard, and a little more confident in what they love.

And yes, we also touch on the fact that this podcast is going to keep growing. We’re going to talk more about the erotic side of spandex, personal stories, confidence, community, and all the many ways this world overlaps with identity and self-expression. So this is just the beginning.
