Strictly Canucks Talk

Tanbir and Nam breakdown the deals that were on Deadline Day 2019 as the Canucks depart with Erik Gudbranson and Jonathan Dahlen and welcome Stanley Cup champion Tanner Pearson, along with Swedish prospect Linus Karlsson. The boys also caught up with Jawn Jang from Sportsnet 650's The Playbook and they breakdown what Jim Benning was thinking. 

Harman Dayal from The Athletic fills in for Tanbir Rana with Nam Mann in this pre-deadline edition of the SCT Show. Also, on the show, Tanbir Rana caught up with Jasson Botchford from the Athletic and TSN 1040 to get his thoughts on how the Canucks should approach this years deadline. 

Things got heated in episode 9 of the SCT Show as Nam and Tanbir went back and forth debating whether some players should be getting ice-time regardless of their play in the AHL, or if sitting them in the press box in the minors helps them learn to be a pro. Also on the show, should the Canucks target Michael Ferland? What is up in Edmonton? Nam also gives his #NamStat on Quinn Hughes and Tanbir delivers his take on Brandon Sutter. 

Episode 8 has the debut of Boy Genius on the SCT Show as Harman Dayal from the Athletic joins Tanbir and Nam to chat about the trade values for Alex Edler, Chris Tanev and Nikolay Goldobin. Also, Tanbir shares his twitter bet with Taj1944, acquiring another defenseman, and sharing their thoughts on the World Juniors. 

Tanbir and Nam catch up with Sportsnet's Steve Dangle to break down who really the Canucks are getting in Josh Leivo. Also, what's up with the Canucks losing skid? Nam gives his #NamStats on the amount of games Canucks are losing by just one goal. 

On episode 6 of the SCT Show Ryan Lehal is joined by former Canucks forward and current analyst for NBC Sports and the MSG Network, Anson Carter (14:53). Carter talks about his playing days in Vancouver and how the pressure of the market gets to certain players. Also,  the advice he had for Daniel and Henrik Sedin, up and coming Canucks core, and the importance of role players in the locker room. Nam also gives his weekly #NamStats and Tanbir has his #TanbirsTake. 

Analyst for NBC and MSG as well as former Canucks forward Anson Carter gives his thoughts on the importance of locker room leadership. 

Nam and Tanbir are joined by a special guest in episode 5 as Uncle Laleet joins the program to tell us which side of the table he's on when it comes to the question that is splitting Canucks nation: Team Tank or Team Playoffs? The boys also rewind the forgettable road trip and the stellar play of Bo Horvat and Elias Pettersson. Also, Nam gives his episodic #NamStats and the two duel it out in "Word Play". 

Episode 4 kicks off with #NamStats talking about the numbers behind the Elias Pettersson draft back in 2017. Nam and Tanbir get into the superstar Swede's amazing month. Also, Jake Virtanen's now got 5 goals (3 at the time of this recording) and Tanbir gives his theory on Virtanen. The boys also give their thoughts on Ben Hutton's solid play after hitting the ice since being healthy scratched to start the season.

Episode three of the SCT Show back at it with Tanbir and Nam to rewind the Canucks opening road trip of the season in which they saw a lot of positives, but one major negative - Elias Pettersson getting a concussion after a vicious check from Mike Matheson. Tanbir and Nam discuss the lack of pushback from the Canucks regarding the situation. Also on the show, does Baertschi fit in the future plans for this team?
