Anime has been a favorite hobby of mine for 25 years. One of the fixtures of the medium is the special opening and ending themes. However, I ended up with the idea to ranking which I felt were my favorites. I ended up trying to craft an exhaustive list.
"Did this song, this video, or both resonate with me so I constantly come back to them later? What ways do they keep me engaged? What exactly am I looking for in them? And of those, how could I possibly rank them?" So I ended up going by gut feeling and intuition.
Looking at the list in full and thinking: this is representative of what I enjoy, what I loved. Everyone's list could probably be different, and that's why this isn't a "Top 10" or "Definitive" list. There is no objective best here. Just a subjective like. I talk in detail about the Top 10 of each category (plus 5 honorable mentions) in the podcast. The list itself is about 50-60 each, but here is is for easy of use.
My hope is this is a funny silly exercise we all do, but talk about in detail.
