It's a super-special episode of the comic strip podcast, as hosts Dave London & Pete Chianca chat up cartoonists Pat Sandy ("Next Door Neighbors"), Steve McGinn ("Toons by Stev-O") and Tim Jones ("Sour Grapes") about how they've used their cartoons to shine a light on pandemic living. Plus: A tribute to Mort Drucker! For the Zoom video version of this podcast, visit petpeevescomic.com/podcast.
They're back! After a brief hiatus, Dave London and Pete Chianca have returned with a new episode of "Strip Search: The Comic Strip Podcast," featuring their very special guest Duane Abel. Duane calls in from the great state of Ohio to discuss his comic strip "Zed," and the way he uses his cartooning and performing backgrounds as a motivational speaker. Also, "Three's Company" comes up. Meanwhile, Pete and Dave review the recent book "The Peanuts Papers" and share some new developments with their comic strip and book "Pet Peeves."
ABOUT 'STRIP SEARCH'
A podcast where “Pet Peeves” cartoonists Dave London and Pete Chianca interview cartooning professionals and talk comic strips: their history, classic comics, the current state of the industry, and comics to watch out for. Visit petpeevescomic.com/podcast for past episodes.
This month, Dave and Pete sit down with Shelli Paroline of Salem, an accomplished illustrator and co-director of the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo (MICE), coming to Cambridge Oct. 19-20. Joining her is fellow Salemite Kurt Ankeny, a graphic novelist who'll be debuting his latest book at MICE.
This is a big one: Dave London & Pete Chianca welcome the great Bob Eckstein, best-selling author of "The History of the Snowman" and "Footnotes from the World's Greatest Bookstores," editor of the new compilation "The Ultimate Cartoon Book of Book Cartoons" and longtime cartoonist for the New Yorker and many others. Plus in the intro, they experiment with some new technology that goes a little wonky. (Don't worry, it gets better as they go along.)
