The Parable of the Prodigal Son is familiar to many of us.  But ask yourself a question; which person are you in the parable?  As we read through the parable we see three different characters that possess the human traits that all of us have the ability to possess: Selfishness, Greed, Self-righteousness,  Humility, Wisdom, Depression, Anger, Happiness and more. 

At the end of the parable we get a chance to grab what Jesus wants us to have.  He teaches the importance of humility and grace.  He teaches us that above all the laws of right and wrong, love is demonstrated through our willingness to show grace.  

Do you want to live in a world strictly governed by truth and justice?  You better think twice about your answer.  This is why Christ came to put an end to the Law and introduce us to the deeper understanding of grace and mercy.  This is the true character of God!
