Genesis 3:5 "For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

This is the "fall of man". Words such as Pride, Arrogance, Selfishness, and Self-Righteousness, are just some of the many ways that we exhibit our desire to be the god of our own life. 

If you don't think you struggle with this, that is likely your first indication that you have a pride problem.  Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
