WEEK 9: RUTH | A THROWBACK EPISODE

I’m so excited to share a little throwback with you this week!

For Week 9 of our Women of the Bible series, we’re going back to one of the very first episodes of Strong Dependent Women — “Let’s Read Ruth Together!”

Before this series ever existed, we spent time studying Ruth and learning about her faithfulness, loyalty, courage, and ultimately, her trust in God’s plan—even when she couldn’t see what was ahead.

Listening back to this episode feels so special because it’s a little glimpse into where this podcast began, and now we get to revisit Ruth together as part of our Women of the Bible journey.

So whether you listened to this episode when it first came out or you’re hearing it for the very first time, I hope you’ll open your Bible, grab your journal, and spend some time with Ruth this week.

Women of the Bible — Week 8: Rahab

This week on Strong Dependent Women, we’re diving into the story of Rahab—a woman whose past did not disqualify her from being part of God’s plan.

Rahab’s story is one of faith, courage, redemption, and radical trust in God. She was a woman with a complicated past who made a bold decision to trust the God of Israel, and that decision changed the course of her life—and her family’s life—forever.

In this episode, we’ll talk about what Rahab’s story teaches us about leaving our past behind, having faith before we can see the outcome, protecting what God has entrusted to us, and remembering that God can use anyone for His purposes.

Your past does not make you unusable. Your mistakes do not make you unworthy. And your story is not finished.

Let’s look at Rahab and the God who turns redemption into part of the story. 🤍

In today’s episode, I’m sharing a little change to the podcast schedule: moving from uploading every Monday to uploading every other Monday.

But this decision is about so much more than having an extra week between episodes. I’ve been thinking and praying about what it looks like to create this podcast from a place of intentionality rather than feeling like I need to constantly produce something just to stay on schedule.

I don’t want to rush through my time with God just so I can record an episode. I want to give myself space to be still, sit in silence, listen for His voice, and allow Him to lead what I share here.

I want this podcast to be prayerfully considered. I want the words I share to come from a place of spending time with the Lord, not from pressure to have something to upload every single week.

So, every other Monday it is. 🤍

Women of the Bible | Week 7: Miriam 🌿

From watching over her baby brother Moses as a young girl to leading the women of Israel in worship after the Red Sea, Miriam played an important role in God’s story. But her story also reminds us that even those God uses greatly are still called to walk humbly and faithfully before Him.

Miriam’s life challenges us to ask: Am I using the gifts God has given me to glorify Him, or am I allowing pride to get in the way?

Women of the Bible Series | Week 6: Shiphrah & Puah — Courageous Obedience

In this episode of the Women of the Bible series, we’re looking at the courageous faith of Shiphrah and Puah, two Hebrew midwives whose names are recorded in Scripture because they chose to fear God rather than follow the commands of man.

When Pharaoh ordered the death of Hebrew baby boys, these women quietly stood for what was right, protecting innocent lives and trusting God with the outcome. Their story reminds us that courage doesn’t always look loud or dramatic — sometimes it looks like choosing obedience in the small, unseen moments when no one else is watching.

Join me as we explore what Shiphrah and Puah teach us about bravery, faithfulness, standing firm in our convictions, and trusting that God sees every act of obedience.

Week 5: Jochebed | Trusting God When Letting Go Feels Impossible

This week, we’re looking at the life of Jochebed, the mother of Moses, whose faith and courage changed the course of history. Faced with an impossible situation, she chose to trust God over fear, placing her son in the Lord’s hands when she could no longer protect him herself.

Join me as we explore what Jochebed’s story teaches us about surrender, courageous obedience, and trusting God’s plan—even when we can’t see the outcome. Whether you’re a mom, a wife, or simply walking through a season that requires deep faith, this episode will encourage you to place what you love most into God’s faithful hands.

Week 4: Leah — The Woman Who Was Seen by God

In this episode of Women of the Bible, we’re looking at the life of Leah — a woman who knew what it felt like to be overlooked, unwanted, and constantly longing for love and approval. Leah’s story reminds us that even when others fail to see our worth, God sees us fully and faithfully.

Through Leah’s journey, we’ll talk about the danger of searching for our identity in the acceptance of others, the beauty of being chosen by God, and how the Lord meets us in our deepest places of hurt and insecurity.

Leah’s life shows us that we don’t have to fight for God’s attention — we already have it. He sees us, He knows us, and He is faithful to be our source of true fulfillment.

Week 3: Hagar – The God Who Sees

This week, we’re looking at the life of Hagar—a woman who experienced rejection, loneliness, fear, and uncertainty. Yet in the middle of her wilderness, God met her with compassion and reminded her that she was not forgotten.

Hagar’s story is a beautiful reminder that even when we feel overlooked, abandoned, or like our circumstances are beyond our control, God sees us. He is present in our pain, faithful in our waiting, and near to the brokenhearted.

Join me as we explore Hagar’s journey and discover what her story teaches us about God’s character, His care for the overlooked, and the hope we can have when life doesn’t go as planned.

This week, we’re looking at Sarah—a woman who experienced seasons of waiting, doubt, laughter, and ultimately God’s faithfulness.

Sarah’s story reminds us that God’s promises aren’t limited by our age, circumstances, or timeline. Even when she couldn’t see how His plan would unfold, God remained faithful to every promise He made.

Join me as we explore Sarah’s journey, what it teaches us about trusting the Lord in seasons of waiting, and how her story points us to a God who always keeps His word.

Welcome to Week 1 of our Women of the Bible series!

In this episode, we’re taking a look at Eve, the first woman ever created. While Eve is often remembered for her role in the fall, her story reveals so much more about God’s design, the reality of temptation, the consequences of sin, and the incredible grace of God.

Together we’ll explore what Scripture actually says about Eve, the choices she made, and the lessons Christian women can learn from her today. We’ll discuss how the enemy still uses many of the same tactics he used in the Garden, why trusting God’s Word matters, and how God’s plan of redemption was present even in humanity’s darkest moment.

No matter your past mistakes or current struggles, Eve’s story reminds us that God is a God of grace, redemption, and hope.
