In this episode of W Ap Koute M M Ap Koute W, I dive deeper into the idea of “The Illusion of Nothing to Heal” — the belief that if nothing dramatic or obvious happened, we must be perfectly fine. The truth is, many of us carry wounds that don’t look like trauma but still shape the way we live, love, and connect.
I talk about what this illusion looks like in real life: the silence that comes from families where emotions weren’t welcome, the exhaustion of always being the strong one, and the quiet weight of microaggressions or cultural stigmas that pile up over time.
These aren’t “small things.” Left unacknowledged, they show up as burnout, emotional disconnection, or repeating the same painful patterns. In this episode, I share simple ways to spot when you’re dismissing your own pain — from noticing your “I’m fine” moments, to journaling prompts, to listening to what your body is holding.
Healing isn’t about waiting for a big event to validate your pain. It’s about giving yourself permission to notice the little things that matter — and choosing to tend to them.
